Southview 04/05 Preview

Southview has seven seniors on this year's basketball team. These players include (from left) Darrick Holloway, Kurt Grossman, Aaron Joplin, Josh Murchison, Michael Campbell, Aaron Waldie and Alex Merrill.
Southview went 19-4 last year, but graduated four of its biggest guns in Steve Kyser, Ray Thomas, Jamar Murchison and Mike Norris. Those four alone combined for an average of 58.2 points and 23 rebounds per game. One would think that there would be nothing left. The Cougars, however, return an additional 20 points in seven seniors. The most significant of these returnees are Michael Campbell and Aaron Waldie. Both excellent athletes, Campbell averaged 6.3 points, 2.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals as a junior, while Waldie contributed another four points, two assists and 1.5 rebounds. Southview also has a few impressive underclassmen on its team.
